JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Product Owner for a venture studio that builds new products and startups for bigger companies (apps, SaaS, marketplaces, AI pipelines). Permanent, full-time, embedded in the client's own team, not a separate offshore team. Ideally starts work by 08:00 Vietnam time or earlier.
What will you do
- Shape product strategy with the client and its end clients, and understand the commercial case behind what is built
- Run discovery and gather business requirements, then turn them into user stories, acceptance criteria and tickets
- Design and prototype the product themselves in Figma or similar, from wireframes to clickable prototypes
- Work with engineers to get it built, and keep everyone across decisions and progress
The client is after a product person rather than a BA: BA skills are part of it, but strategy, design and owning the product end to end matter most. Client-facing role: presents to Australian clients in English.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE
- Senior product manager / product owner who has built products end to end, ideally from scratch through to launch
- Startup experience, or has built something of their own
- Good design taste and hands-on UI/UX skills: makes wireframes and clickable prototypes themselves in Figma or similar, rather than handing them to a designer
- Strong commercial sense: gets the product strategy and can talk to clients about it
- Fluent, confident English; comfortable presenting to Australian clients
- Experience working with people across different cultures and teams
- Good at coordinating communication and keeping knowledge organised
- Creative and happy to be hands-on
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with AI products
- Fintech or wealth management experience
- Uses AI tools to prototype quickly
Note: a BA moving into product ownership will not pass. The client interviews each candidate and expects product-strategy judgment, the ability to simplify complex UX, and clear English.
